HYUN COFFEE / INFORMATION

Using this site

How to read recipes and use the information and features on this site.

Effective date

Published coffee recipes are presented in a consistent format. Check the creator and what the figures mean, and adapt the method to your coffee and equipment.

Using recipes

Recipes are available without registration or payment. Search by brewer, coffee dose and hot or iced, and use More filters to select a water temperature. Each recipe page provides brew details, a water schedule and notes.

Use Copy link to share a recipe URL and Print to print the brew method. Search, filters and link copying require JavaScript.

Brew timer

The timer follows each recipe's pour and valve schedule. You can start, pause, resume, reset and finish brewing. Steps with a time range begin at the start of that range, and waiting is shown when a pour end time is specified. The source's original completion range is retained, with overtime shown after its upper limit. Ambiguous source times are identified as guidance on the recipe page.

The timer cannot detect water flow or drainage. It does not stop automatically at the target time; check drainage and select Finish brewing to stop timing. Finishing instructions for iced recipes appear at this point. Keep the screen on while brewing and finish according to the actual brew. The timer requires JavaScript, while printed pages show the brew schedule.

Units and notation

Coffee, water and ice are shown in g, and water temperature in °C. Step times follow the points or ranges stated in the source. Water added is the amount for that step, while Total water is the cumulative amount poured so far.

The water-to-coffee ratio uses the brewing water relative to the coffee dose. Ice is listed separately and is distinct from the final beverage yield. Not specified means the information was not found in the source, rather than a recommendation or a value of zero.

Brew results and scope of the information

Flavor and brew time vary with the coffee, roast, water, grind and equipment. Use these recipes as a reference for comparing published methods, and adjust for your coffee and equipment. Handle hot water and equipment according to the manufacturer's instructions.

The creator credited on each recipe is the original recipe's creator. The content is compiled from public sources and translated into English from the site's Korean summaries; it is separate from the site operator's own brew reviews.

Images and content

Brewer illustrations are AI-generated charcoal line drawings that show the general shape. They are not photographs of the actual products.

The site logo uses a supplied image of the character 玄 with its background removed using an AI tool. Rights to third-party materials, including those of recipe creators and brands, remain with their respective owners; publication here does not grant permission to redistribute them freely.

Corrections and changes

Recipes, descriptions and features may change as errors are corrected or presentation is improved. When guidance affecting use changes, the effective date on this page will also be updated.
